Renaissance Excavating, Inc. has been in business serving Franklin and Hampshire Counties and surrounding areas, since 1970. Doug Edson, the president of Renaissance Excavating, started the business with one backhoe. Since then the business has grown to 2 excavators, 2 bulldozers, a front end loader, a backhoe, 5 dump trucks, compaction equipment, grading equipment, and everything needed to complete any type of site work that you might need. We also have a pneumatic rock hammer for doing ledge removal projects.

Doug has a wealth of knowledge to draw upon in dealing with different soil and water conditions in the area. His passion for excellence and doing a good job has been instilled in his employees.

Doug is a Massachusetts soil evaluator, license number SE665. He is also a registered Massachusetts Title 5 System Inspector, license number SI3034. Doug has served on the Gill Board of Health since 1991.
